Unit #2: THEREMIN (Model Enigma One)

The second of many Vacuum Tube Theremin electronic musical instruments. The Enigma model ONE is a very unique stand alone Theremin with 18 tubes and is a dual channel Theremin with two separate variable-tunable oscillators, each different, moving in and out of phase creating rich harmonics from very low frequencies to very high ranges. The effects are profound to say the least. This special class of Theremin incorporates a featured that its creator has labeled “Stereoscillators”, Stereo-oscillators. This Theremin incorporates a special feature called”Earth oscillator”, that provides a low frequency vibrato which is variable from about 1 to 40 hertz. This theremin utilizes a special 5 tube regulated power supply that has its own brand name, “Vari-Bus, Omnivalve series”, it basically supplies what ever the oscillators need to reach the lows and the highs. Rich fundamentals flowing in and out of resonance. This unit creates some very interesting sounds! Great for the studio and the road.
